Salon Owner\Grooming Instructor - Irena Sirtzes
Welcome I'm Irena Szirtes  and I run Barking Glad Grooming Salon and Grooming School. In 2003 I fulfilled   a lifelong ambition to work with dogs, when I trained to groom.
I have loved and handled dogs since being a small child, and dogs have always loved me! I used to dream of showing pedigrees, but abused and abandoned dogs took my attention and mixed breeds became an equal passion.
One of my Rescues, Webster, has had his story printed in the book "Cheeky Animals Are f Smarter Than Jack" (www.smarterthanjack.com).

Our present dog, Suki the lurcher, overcame deep emotional problems and has given us a new interest in greyhound rescue. I  never did get to show a pedigree, but encouraged by my husband Andrew, I exhibited Suki at Perry Barr Greyhound Trust Day in 2006.

To our delight, she carried off two firsts and then endured a hail storm to become Novelty Class Champion!f

In 2010, Suki was very happy to aquire a new sister ~ Cassie the greyhound. She is a delightful girl with a gentle temperament and they are enjoying their new life together.

Cassie generally has a calming effect on Suki, but has introduced her to plunging in and out of water before a good race round to get get dry !

In Dec 2009 I invited Lynn Styles to join me full time at Barking Glad, Lynn originally trained to groom as a hobby, but made a career change due to unforseen circumstances.

She worked in retail most of her working life, & was responsible for supporting trainee managers.

Lynn has a husband, Bob, grown up twin daughters & shares her home with 2 westies, 2 lurchers and a hybrid pointer.

Lynn's particular strength is bichons, and she runs the bichon classes in our school, as wall as providing excellent student training & support.

She also initiated our low price collection & delivery services.
